The unit is made up of athletes from the Kryvyi Rih Rugby Club and the local soccer community, who voluntarily joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces from the very first days of the full-scale invasion.

Members of the “Rugby Players” unit were among the first in the Kherson sector to begin using drones for aerial reconnaissance, artillery fire correction, and striking enemy targets as early as 2022.
On July 28, 2025, the “RUGBY TEAM” 129th UAV Battalion was formed within the 129th Airborne Brigade, based on the “RUGBY TEAM” 129th Brigade’s strike UAV company.

“The 18–24: Drones” Contract provides real service experience in a high-tech military unit, a payment package totaling 1 million UAH, and a range of benefits unavailable in civilian life.

Yes, it is. We provide the necessary training that will help you gain basic military knowledge and skills required to perform tasks effectively.
After completing the interview, you will receive a recommendation letter that allows you to submit a transfer request to your commander or through the “Army+” application. Currently, transfers are available only within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Transfers from the National Guard of Ukraine are not available.
